durflex®101 sp roller professional system, conceived, studied and realised by Vesmaco was first introduced to the world at the Inline Speed Skating World Championships in L’Aquila – Italy in 2004. It was very successful among the athletes of the 40 participating countries, triggering a strong demand to the respective Federations for “tracks such as the one in L’Aquila”. The reasons for the great success of this flooring system, that has revolutionized competitive speed and artistic roller skating, annulling the old concept of concrete tracks, are the ease of use, the absence of connection joints, the high degree of adherence (impossible on concrete) and the smoothness demonstrated by the system during the event. Such characteristics have permitted (as shown since L’Aquila 2004) new world records and improved individual times. As a result of hard-working research and testing, these new and fundamental characteristics have allowed the athletes to achieve their maximum capacity and to compete in complete safety, reducing the risk of falling to a minimum. After three years of observation and after practical and constant tests during successive races, the Federal Technicians, in charge of surface control, noticed that the characteristics of adherence and smoothness were unchanged. The same results were confirmed by the athletes too. Since the above characteristics have to be considered as essential under a competitive and safety point of view, in such a sport, the FIRS (International Roller Sports Federation) has officially approved the durflex®101 sp roller professional system, establishing its use in all new constructions, in the refurbishment of existing ones for the re-qualification of all levels of agonistic skating surfaces and for the smooth running of the functional characteristics all over the world.
